Looks kinda like the design scheme used in the Jaguar XF, which in turn was modeled after the Motorola RAZR.

Me likey.

You can very faintly see it in a couple of the pictures I put up. It was made very clear that this was NOT the production ambient lighting, so it didn't work great. But the way Scott was flicking switches, it seems to be separate from the rest of the interior lighting...which I think was a question some people had.

I see that the torque meter survived! On the SS anyways, which was right in line with the prediction I made in an earlier thread.

ok - rant is over.......
I agree, how hard is it to change around a few pixels into the program to make the car that shows you the trunk is open look like a camaro??

Regarding the gauges, I did a quick photochop, and lengthening the marks for the in-between numbers (10, 30, 50) does wonders for legibility IMHO.

It was mostly schtick.... while I do wish they would make the outline of the Camaro as the symbol for the car, I'd never raise any real hell about it....

It did? I don't see it.

EDIT:

Phew. I thought GM had made a massive folly and chosen an arbitrary torque meter over something important like trans temp.

I want to see what Clarkson thinks of the interior,
I don't think he'll be able to pick it apart as much as he does on other american cars : )

Subject: L99 redline.
I noticed the gages reflect the published V6 redline of 7000 RPMs yet the redline on the gage for the SS shows apx 6500 or 6600 RPMS for the V8. Its assumed the V8 used in the SS cars is the L99 since it s mated with a Automatic trans. The published redline for that motor is 6000 RPMS.
http://www.chevrolet.com/camaro/pdf/...ifications.pdf

I’m optimistic that the real redline for the L99 is 6500/6600 RPMS but I’m skeptical due to what people have been saying about the AFM limitations imposed on the L99 valve train.
Anyone have any more detail on this subject? Do we know what the real redline for the L99 is?

One more thing, anyone that was at the event see a good place for me to mount my TOM TOM? I got to have my GPS ya know.

The torque meter did not survive. Cheryl Pilcher in the morning session last weekend stood up and specifically corrected an earlier speaker and she said the torque meter was gone.

I was depressed after I heard it was gone and tuned out, but I think she said it was the transmission oil temperature. Now I can haul my horse trailer with it.
