shock failures

Has anyone had a shock failure? I have a ss2 6sp that has about 1100 miles on it. I just noticed a oil spot below the right rear controlarm. When I got under the car I was able to determine it was coming from the right rear shock. This car has not been abused. I'm calling the dealer Monday just wanted to know if anyone else had this issue.

I see three similar reports here by searching for "leaking shock". This looks like a typical failure rate for any car. I suppose it's somthing for all of us to check during routine maintainence.

Yep, driverside went.

I put lowering springs on & had thought that was the problem, but it may just be the shocks.

yep, left rear shock leaked and replaced and judging by the clunking noise I think the right rear is about gone also

how long did it take to get the replacement shock? Just got back from the dealer and they could not give me a date as to when the replacement shock would be in.
