GM will "let the cat out of the bag" when there ready. And only then. There had been one in the works, but thats on hold right now, maybe forever. When your owned by the government, you do what they say. They built the SS Camaro, what ever happens next who knows? I bought one, and Ive got a 72 Z28. I dont speculate, if they do fine, if they dont thats fine too....makes my Z28 worth that much more! I will say this Im from Missouri, so GM, if youre gonna build a Z28.....................Show-Me.

Just wait till after the autoshows this coming year. The middle to end of January usually opens up a whole new world of possibilities to the consumers eyes. I am not saying you will have a street trim Z-28 to look at but you might be in for a surprise...who knows?

Great points/arguments, thanks for the input.

I suppose I should've mentioned another reason I want to hold out for the Z/28 is the fact that I had an '84 Z/28 for my first car and I'd love to have another.
(Oh yeah, and the fact that monetarily speaking, a couple years from now is quite realistic compared to now.)

Hope it has more than a 556hp LSA, Sooner or later ford will turbo or supercharged its new 5.0 V8, which will be good for over 600+hp.

Awww come on If there is a Z28, would it not have to compete in the eyes of the average consumer to a Mythical (though completely possible) 5.0 V8 mustang with TT or supercharger?

to me personally, these threads are amusing.

if there was a ZL1, would it not have to beat the ZR1 and the GT40 and the Murcialago, and the Gallardo, and the Enzo N/A

in the eyes of the average consumer. that is.

horsepower sells cars. torque wins races.

Well said Spike the ZL-1s were absolute monsters. There was nothing else like them in those days except for privately built Super stockers.

If I could have my choice of camaro's prepped for sale tomorrow,
I'd have the
LS/LT A6/M6

SS (LS3/M6, L99/A6, LS3/A6)
available 1LE suspension track package

Z28 LSA

ZL1 LS9 (detuned of course.... so the vette boys dont get upset over us having the same amount of power)

tho, if I was building a ZL1 camaro.... it would have two engine options. I'd have to use either a 454 LSX with low cr and a 440LSX with high cr both with full forged internals.

then offer twin turbos and or a supercharger combo upgrade as well as a carb/throttle plate option.

but thats my personal pipe dream. and it will not happen. an LSA powered Z28. very, very likely to happen in a couple years. an LS9 from the factory? doubt it very seriously.

but the Z28 is a reality. just not for us... right now.

its not open to debate. sorry to disappoint.

In my thoughts and looking to what GM has done with the Camaro line up before

LS/LT A6/M6 (304 HP)

Z/28 LS3/M6, L99/A6 (426 HP) Maybe a handling upgrade. If needed.

The SS could be upgraded to handle the LSA (500+ HP) engine to compete with the GT-500

I mean historically didn't the SS compete with GT(sheby, ECT) level road cars from Ford....Correct or no?

But the facts are the Z/28 is not a real vehicle...yet
