Burning coolant!!!
I have a 2010 V6 M6 with 114000 miles on it and have noticed the smell of burning coolant once I arrive to wherever it is that I am going. No noticeable puddles under the car except at my garage, little quarter sized splotches. Got under the car and seen coolant dripping off of the transmission but could not tell where it is leaking.
The burning smell has me worried about possibly head gasket? No rough idle or loss of power. No reason for me to believe anything is wrong at all without the leak and smell. It has me stumped. Ideas? Please don't be the head gaskets!!! Mods are injen long tube, mbrp cat back and vmax iceolator Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If your car had a coolant change or flush, did you make sure premixed or no mix coolant was used properly? If its concentrated coolant that needs to be mixed with water and straight coolant is dumped in, that sweet smell with be very very strong.

Well you say you have coolant on the floor when cold...you have a leak. Check the back of the manifold or heater hoses.

You could put it on ramps and look up under it also.

I have been under it on a lift and I can't exactly tell from where though. I will check behind the manifold and heater hoses.
Would pressure testing the system confirm a leak, and could it be something wrong with the head/gasket? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If you have a bad head gasket, your oil would likely have a milky color to it. Check your oil and see if it appears normal.
There are a few places to check for the leak. You can wipe everything clean under you car and simply watch and see if you can find the source or you can trace all the cooling lines and hoses from the radiator to the trans. |

Burning smell is probably coolant getting on exhaust. Since you see on transmission exhaust is right there. Also doesn't this engine have the coolant hose going to rear of engine to thermostat.
