Mass air flow sensor
I have found on a vendor website saying a weak air flow sensor can cause hesitation. Is that true? I have been complaining of cold engine hesitation and a rare miss my car has been giving me. No one will seem to answer my cry :(
GM said since no codes come up then theres no problem I know something is wrong somewhere. 2012 SS M6 Stock |

This is true but it only applies if you have added an aftermarket CAI system. The "weak" sensor is fine in a stock intake.

Then why does my car feel like I'm pulling a trailer sometimes? When I step on it there's a sudden lose of power before acceleration even with the nannies turned off. Only using 93 octane as well. Tried the fuse pull...
What should I do? |

Is it an automatic? The automatic Camaro in my book is a let down without some mods done to it. In plain stock form it is not much fun.

There are several threads on this issue on the forum. The short explanation is that when the car is cold the computer system is not regulating things. This is why you get the hesitation when it's cold. Once the car is up to temp, the computer does it's job and life is wonderful again. Bottom line, the cold engine hesitation is normal.
However, there are a number of MAF sensors with specific build codes that are known to be defective. Again, there is a thread here somewhere that shows you the MAF codes that are known to be the ones with weak readings. |

Yes sir it happens All the time when the engine is cold and "sometimes/rare" when the temp is at normal operating ranges..
My dealer is no help to me because there is no check engine light. |

Did you drive it hard for any of those 5000 miles?
I drove my ls3 hard to break it in.. seated the rings and definitely had a ton of power. if you baby'ed it during break it.. that may explain this but the hesitation could possibly be the MAF. If you have access to basic tools, we can assist you in telling whether you have the good MAF or bad MAF. But seeing it is a 2012.. Odds are you do not have a bad MAF by code..but possibly just bad in general. |

I followed the 1500 mile break in process as the manual says to do.

The biggest thing right now for most cars, is the weather. When things cool down and dry out they will run like a different car.
