HARD WATER SPOTS?
How in earth can I get all of these hard water spots off my car? Made the mistake of washing my car at home and the water started drying. When that would happen, I would just spray more water on it, and think nothing of it. Well now they are terrible, and everywhere. I now know that our water is so hard that it made my windows opaque. I couldn't see through them, and I had to basically pour vinegar on them to get the spots off.
It's like that all over my car.. Help? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

polishing the car didn't help either. Big mistake on my part. Probably swirled the paint all up. CRAP.

Clay bar. Can also use a diluted vinegar mixture.

Will a clay bar remove this? I thought it was to get dirt and grime out of your clear coat.

The water spots aren't water when you think about it, they are what was in the water, minerals etc. Clay bar should remove them fairly easily especially if they are fresh and you haven't let them become water etching. I'd start out with a clay bar and see the results. If it isn't helping there are other options such as Chemical Guys Water Spot Remover or light machine polishing.

EDIT: You can also pick-up a clay bar kit at walmart, such as Mother's Clay Bar. No need to order it online from the detailing sites.

I have a bottle of white vinegar and purified water. Does the job splendidly!

Use on a small test spot first before using on a large area.

I'm not saying a vinegar/water mixture is a substitute for detail spray, two wildly different things, but both may remove the water spots.
