Thanks, I used the parts listed below.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...7R7K9QE5GVKXQY
http://www.qualitydist.net/pico-0956pt.html

I drilled a clearance hole in the sticky mount even with the seam above the acrylic dash piece and used a #4 wood screw 3/8" long to help support the mount. The screw does not damage the dash. It just wedges in there. I was worried that the adhesive on the sticky mount would soften in the heat.

Works great.

Has anyone used one of these for TomTom Easyport? Looks like it would work. Found one site that says its 8 " long (4" for each section) Thought it would be neat to come up from power port in front of the cluster and no modding needed.

I always know where I am going. No mounts necessary.

Skyman...

How did you run your power wire?

I plan on buying a GPS once my OnStar is done and I want to mount it in the center some how. I've seen some custom made brackets that are specifically made for the Camaro and clip to the plastic on the center of the dash. It's a perfect location but I wasn't sure how to run the power cord. Not sure I want to use that clip because it's $60. I figured there has to be something else.

I just plug it into the power outlet, since it is only there when I use the GPS it isn't a problem for me...
I prefered to put something there that was simple and didn't stick out like a sore thumb, Most GPS mounts that you have to stick to the dash look aweful when the GPS is not attached, plus my little clip can be used to hold other things when the GPS is not there,

Wouldn't that also means that you never go to a place that you already went , so no new places for you anymore right?

If you have a Garmin you can get other cars here
http://www.vehiclesforgarminnuvi.com/

They do have the 5th Gen too, after you hit "Agree" just type "Camaro" in the search there are two 5th gens, one 4th gen & one 2nd gen

I replaced my Tom-Tom recently with a New Garmin with Lifetime updates. I had to modify my mount. what I did was take the belt clip that came off the measuring tape turned it over and flattened the little curve in it. i then got a Vent mount for my Garmin from E-Bay and cut off the vent mounting tabs. I used the screwhole that was on the clip that held it to the measuring tape and used a small sheet metal screw and attached it to the vent mount. and then put the clip on the trim piece between the two center vents so my wife could see the GPS also.
Here is what it looks like (sorry the wire is not attached to it in these pictures) I unhook the power when not in use.

I also downloaded the Bumblebee car from the Garmin website.
