Is Royal Purple really worth it?

I have a relative that lives and dies by Royal Purple that he uses in his 09 Mustang GTR concept car. Is it worth the added expense over typical synthetic oil?v

IMO no, you won't gain anything with it over Mobil 1. With Mobil 1 you know what you are getting, a group III based oil. Royal Purple will not disclaim what base their oil is made of. Research scatters like roaches at night when a light is turned on. It could be a blend of group III thru group V or a group IV. You are over paying for some unknown secret that IMO hasn't proven itself any better than Mobile 1 or Pennzoil Ultra and a pretty purple dye added that doesn't even stay purple very long.

I believe in its capabilities from personal use with oil analysis reports backing up my OCI's. Besides, I know more than most cut and paste Amsoil dealers which are at least 95% of them.
