Credit card compromised.
I wanted to share this.
I have a credit card that I have for on-line purchases only, I don't even carry it in my wallet. Well according to my wife she was notified by the bank last week that someone from a state back east had been charging groceries and gas on our card. The bank thank goodness had acted fast and we were able to cancel the card. The only thing that I had recently used the card for was a few accessories that I ordered for my new camaro shortly after I got it. I'm not going to name the distributor because its a large reputable company and I'm not blaming them or anything. Anyway just a common reminder as its nothin new.....Always be careful when buying on-line. In over 20 years of having a credit card(s) this is the first time this has happened to me.

Similar story. A card I never use someone tried to finance a Mexican Vacation.

Happened to me twice in the past 12 months, also PayPal will want to "Verify" you after a while of you using the service and your Paypal account becomes a "Debit" account. Just a heads-up, I told Paypal to "Stick IT"

Bummer, such a pain in the ass.
I've had someone buy a car off ebay motors with my debit card. Luckily B of A reimbursed my account.

this is exactly why i only have a amex card. zero hassle and they will back you 100 percent and have a new card overnight ed to you.

I've had my debit card comprimised twice in the last 3-4 years. I never buy anything online with it. Both times I reported it to my bank and they canceled the card amd gave me my cash back. The first time whoever stole my info went on an internet shopping spree and the second time they went out on the town in Vegas.

Idk why you guys make these post and then don't tell us who it was. What good does it do?
I mean it's like telling us....Hey! I got some new mods to my camaro! Not going to say what they are or what they do. But they are cool! OP...was the state it was used in the same as the vendor? If so, that's some pretty good proof it was the vendor. |

It also could of been a virus/spyware on your computer. I am not saying the company is innocent, but there are a variety of ways to get credit card information.

Often it is not even the distributer, the # could have been gotten from the service that processes the cards. I had a spell 4 years ago where my bank was sending me a new debit card every month because different companies had been compromised.
