Has anyone tried to get this corrected at a dealership? What did they say/do?

If mine is rubbed I'll try the dealership, shouldn't be hard to get something like this corrected. Car has less than 5k miles, there shouldn't be wear marks.

Let me say, I'm as picky as it comes. I have a tendency to fret over the smallest scratches and the many noises these American muscle cars make. I've come to the conclusion nothing over 200 HP and under $50k will sound quiet enough for my OCD.

But, I don't think you have a legit beef with Chevy on this paint deal. The paint was "perfect" until you attempted to upgrade from stock. It sucks, but it really should be on you to have the paint corrected if you want to use the Z28 spoiler. Would you think Chevy owes you a paint correction if you decide to remove the carpet in the trunk and find unpainted metal?

I'm not banging you for putting the spoiler on. Just know you'll have to correct the paint underneath, that's all.

I really disagree - Do you work for GM's accounting department?!!? and yes if I find bare metal under carpet you can bet your a$$ that they are going to fix it and paint - there is a process manufacturing goes through to provide a product and as a buyer I have certain expectations - a complete paint job that doesn't have chips from the design is one of them. Remember the chips etc. are not from removing the part they are there from the part itself!!

and just for the record I haven't even looked to see if I have the issue

I hope, for your sake, GM agrees. I doubt they will agree to remedy bare spots from under the spoiler when said spots were not visible until you attempted to modify the car.

I'm not anti-mod. I hope I'm wrong here. Good luck.

P.S. Don't pull back the carpet anywhere on the car -- you won't like what you see

HAHA - As long as the primer is there to prevent rust all is good!!! Bare metal was the point
Also in the string it looks like this was an issue on 10's that they corrected?
Another question - what if you buy the spoiler and have a Chevy service install it - will they then be responsible even if they won't cover it under standard warranty?

Has anyone actually tried to get it fixed? My curiosity meter is off the charts now
