Hey Guys,
I'm actually a Nationwide Insurance Agent in South Carolina and wanted to respond about this. I bought my Camaro last week and love it! The insurance rates you guys are talking about are going to be different for everyone based on the state you live in, age, tickets etc. I will tell you that we don't even have the exact rating info on the camaro yet for insurance purposes. Those will come later. For now you are most likely being rated on the MSRP of the car and the fact it is a 2 door sport car. I know my rate was not bad at all and I have every insurance option you can have on it. I'm paying around $55 a month with $250 ded, high liability limits, accident forgiveness, etc. If anyone lives in North or South Carolina and wants a rate quote, just let me know. You can reach me at clarkagency@bellsouth.net Hope everyone is enjoying the new camaro, I know I am! Jeff |

Cripes, I have a decent driving record, am over 25, married, homeowner, and live (and work) in a low-crime area, but I probably couldn't even get rates that low for a bicycle.

hes probably getting a deal for working for them. But yeah I would say thats probably thats really cheap and even with a unstained record would be tough. I mean Any new car would run you right around 100 bucks from whatever I have ever gotten. Also with insurance I am pretty sure they check your credit as well, so you could be perfect every other area, but bad credit might hurt.

Actually you get no discounts working for them. But you are right on the credit issue. But there are a lot of factors involved with insurance. The point I was trying to make is the Camaro is not getting a bad wrap or it should not cost you more than the average new car out there insurance wise. And for the other guy that is over 30 and married and etc, you should be getting that kind of rate. But just depends on what state you live in. |

well you probably got a lot of other factors to get it that low. But some of you guys with bad records, younger, poor credit, etc. you might want to get a quote before you buy, because its not unreasonable that you could pay 300-400 bucks a month for this.

but looking at insuarance should be something you do before you buy, along with figure out other cost. I mean a lot of people think well I can afford 300 bucks a month for car note. But then they dont think about if insurance will cost them 200 bucks a month, gas monthly and Maint. Its not unreasonable that the car will cost you 500-600 bucks a month out the door. But people did that when buying these houses that are forclosed so im sure they will do it on cars. So after 6 months you might see a lot of camaros up for sale or on repo lots.

I have my house and daily driver with state farm (canada), haven't had a ticket in 20 years and am 44 years old with 4 kids and they want 147 a month This is also with having my 18 year old sign a waivor stating he won't be driving it. Kinda seems high to me for a second car that'll spend a lot of time in the garage.
