Not that I would ruin the tires but is it possible to burn out and smoke the tires in the v6 auto? Or is the v6 too weak?

I've seen plenty of V6 Mustangs (barely 200 HP if that) do it, so I'm more than sure it will.

I can smoke the tires in my 108 horsepower hyundai. What makes you think the V6 would be anywhere close to "too weak?"

No idea it seems I keep seeing all these posts about slow automatics and I have no idea about cars so thats why I asked

I can tell you from experience.There is no lack in power.The V6 is very zippy.I am sure it will burnout.I got my CGM 1LT on friday.I ordered Oct. 19

you can always get line locks if you really feel the need to roast the rear tires.

When I went to the dealer fri. To check on my stripes they said I had just missed some kid that had rented a V6 and he lit up the tires before I got there. It left 2 nice tire tracks! So yes it will definatly lay some rubber!

I have a 2LT with the 20" Pirelli P-Zeros on it and I have not been able to spin the wheels. I haven't really hit it hard yet, since the car is brand new, but so far I haven't even heard a squeak out of it from a standing start, even in sport mode.

Most of the issues with smoking the tires on the V6 isn't due to power, but due to extreme grip and traction control. With the auto's I'm guessing a lot of people (hopefully not from here) haven't figured out they need to put it in M to have fun (sports mode). With the stick, you hit the gas and it just goes! May have to try and hold the break down to get the smoke rollin.

You mean, your 108hp lightweight FWD lame-tire Hyundai?

(I'm not saying that the V6 auto Camaro could or could not burn rubber, just that it's a tough comparison because the Camaro's got added traction to match its added power.)

V6 auto has open differential, so a one-wheel peel ought to be easy with all that torque as long as you know how to fully turn off traction control.

An automatic V6 will have a harder time burning the tires than an auto.. its the traction control and torque management that will give you the most trouble..Turn it off and it will make your life a lot easier.

I have a 2LT and they will not burn rubber on its own..even with traction off and in the M mode. When its wet Yes and in reverse Yes. I haven't touch the brakes yet and I don't intend too. The only time I will try this is a few days before I have to change my worn out tires (over $400 ea)....IMO.
