Time to sue GM, demand a completely new engine, an extended warranty, money back for lost value or just sell it

That 'BS' is coming from loyal Mustang owners. The ratting, ticking and cylinder scoring isn't BS. Of those, the ticking seems to be the least worrying. Also, the fact that Ford has approved short and long block replacements for these problems should tell you something.

Now, we could argue all day about the % of owners with the issue(s), but it seems higher than it should be.

As for engine choice? I want to be pressed in my seat with as little effort as possible. The LT1 delivers right off the line. Driving around town under 3k is satisfying. The Coyote wouldn't cut it. To each his own.

Both engines can be boosted to over 1000 whp, with the LT1 requiring deeper pockets for reliability. Still, I'd rather do an LT1 complete build.

What's your stance on '18 shift forks? Not being sarcastic, genuine question. If you spend time on YouTube, it sounds like those cars are 100% guaranteed to break the shift forks.

What the hell are you talking about? The engine is all cast aluminum. The parts are cast in Saginaw, MI and assembled in Tonawanda, NY.

Few if any manufactures make steel engines. Maybe there were a few back 80+ years ago. But they’re all either aluminum or iron or a combination.

FWIW GM gets much of it’s steel from Arcelettor Metal, in my hometown of Cleveland.

I, along with probably most here, baby our engines and never go above 3000RPM, these cars are just not built to go fast. They do sound wicked cool though, and that's why we buy them.

Don’t forget the great gas mileage and the stealth setting for the exhaust, so you don’t disturb your neighbors!

While the mustang has had its issues for 18 and no one can deny that, you got to remember people only complain loudly when stuff goes wrong. I am not saying there are not issues, but I don't think its as bad as it's being made out online.

actually 99.9 % are golden.

Their have been a few failures ,,,,, but not many.

BOOM 💥

Hopefully Chevy drops in a new small block and all is good. Things like this happen in a mass produced vehicle.
