Entries must have receipts to prove it.
I'm seriously thinking of missing this one. I can get a nice mode for the gas dollars or a trip to Europe and still enjoy life!

It was a bad pun in reference to a generalized comment made on forums when someone says X person has Y attribute. The reference refers back to a particularly nasty ruler of a European country that was a very good speaker.

It's generally meant to imply that just because someone has a great quality, doesn't mean they're not a complete d-bag.

It took Ronald Reagan to straighten it out. We still won't drill for oil. (green weenies) in 1979 and now.
Most of our foreign oil goes for electricity, not our cars. Will we build nukes? Hell no. We would rather send all of our money to the Arabian penninsula!
Gasoline is expensive? Boo Hoo. The good people elected the regime that is now in power, so we got what we deserve. This summer, I will probably be using my 2 cars as gas storage devices for my Harley. By the way Monitor, this is not about politics, it is about reality.
Yea 1979 was a fun year as I was sitting on an Aircraft Carrier in the Indian Ocean for 6 months until the hostages were let go when President Regan took office. Funny how if we do not learn from history it repeats itself over and over again.

I believe when he said that he was talking about taxing it would push it to that price. Why would he say that otherwise to benefit the gas companies….not hardly…so he’s thinking of doubling his projection right now….

Great you mean it's going to take a ~25% increase in our national debt to fix this, like it took Ronald Reagan?

What's a mode? Do you mean a different mode of transportation?

IMO the next 6 months will make 08 look like a walk in the park.

I think its actually more profitable for me now to drive to NJ, which is only about 15 minutes away, and fill up a tank there. Its dramatically cheaper.

The Camaro might become my daily driver if gas continues to go up. It gets better mileage than my SUV, which cost over $70 to fill up last week, before the rapid increase in prices really got going... I'd have to figure out a way to protect her in the parking lot at work, though...
