I think we know nothing about the Firebird... a '73 455 Super Duty..?
A '68 or '69 400..? Some Firebirds are monsters, and others are re-badged Camaros. One of the quickest street cars I've been in was a built '73 Super Duty... An 11 second street car in the late '70s, when a friend had it.

If he's got the stock 403, it's only around 8:1 compression, and made something like 190 HP... You'd tear him up. If he's massaged it some, he may run OK...but with 2.73 gears, I'd say he still hasn't got a chance.

i prefer double pumper/holley style carbs but even so, sounds like you should be in the mid 400's for hp at the flywheel. I bet that car really moves! whats it weigh? >3500lbs? I think you should be in the 12's without much problem!

4.56 is A LOT of gear but perfect for the quarter mile. Im guessing you cant go faster than 110mph with those gears and tires though (6500rpm). That should be just enough for you though and probably at redline at the end of the quarter mile!
