"Long time listener, first time caller..."
I've been lurking around Camaro5 forums for about a year, but finally decided to pull the trigger and officially join. I've been a Camaro fanatic for over 30 years; bought my first car, a plain Jane 1973 Camaro, for $700 and turned this:
into this: (not a bad ride for a 16 year old high school kid) Fast forward... college, career, marriage, kids. In the middle of a mid-life crisis in 2014 I finally got another Camaro. It's not exactly the one I would have ordered or exactly what I wanted, so I ended up leasing (maybe not the best idea). Anyway, this is what it looked like when I first saw it: This is what it looked like when I picked it up: And after some window tint, PlastiDip on the CAMARO, and a little wider than stock set of Factory Reproduction rims: I haven't done any real mods since it's a lease... not sure what I'll do in 2 years, but this is definitely my dream car: Jim Detroit, MI |

Your '73 brings back memories from my high school days cruising around my small town. A friend had a car similar to yours and I had my '72 chevelle. Others had GTO's, Nova's, Mustangs....great times.
Love what you did to your '14!! |

Jim, CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!
