Change of plans - I won't be able to convoy on the way to the fest, but I will on the way back.

I Haven't mapquested to Memphis so I'm not sure of the time difference in drive So what are everyones thoughts?? Either way I vote for drinks when we arrive

I'm flexible, I can do either. It will be a 14-15 hour day for Ject and me, but if he's okay with it so am I! And on the drink when we get there! They better have some Captain Morgan at the hotel, or maybe I'll just bring my own!

Memphis is about a 7 hour drive, if I remember correctly from last time I made the trip to Nashville.

P.S. - On that note, your company will be kept on the trip back by a car much nicer than the lolhyundai. I'm going either this weekend or next to pick up my new (For me) 1972 Buick Skylark.

Well since you two are the ones making the longest trip and you don't mind, then Birmingham it is!

Bummer you can't join Xanthos. . .we'll have to hunt you down at the fest to make sure we can meet up for the drive home

Birmingham is fine with me if it is fine with Abygale and Ject. They have to drive longer.

I have pulled my trailer for 16 hours before, so 12-14 hours is not that bad. I don't mind the gas stops, it gives me a chance to get out of the truck and walk around. You will do fine Ject, but I will help you any way I can. I have not pulled much or too far with my current truck, but it seems to do fine. It is a GMC 2500HD, 6.0, auto, 4 wheel drive, with trailer towing pkg.

Sorry Xanthos you can't go East with us, but at least you can join us for the trip back.

Abygale, I like your avatar.

Blah, a 2500HD will tow without a problem, it is built for heavy loads... just tow me and my car along with you as well lol! I wish I had a 1500HD or atleast the 5.3L instead of my 4.8L.

Im having my dealership install GM's Medium Duty Tranny Cooler just for the ease at mind for this trip. Trying to think of what else I should do to the truck, It's getting a new powersteering pump put in it VIA extended warranty. I'll also install some 2,500lb helper springs next month, should be easy. Im always nervous about long trips, i never have been lucky.

Thank you Abygale.

Ject, it sounds like you are on the right track with you truck mods. I put a tranny cooler on my last truck because it did not have one. I also put a trans, temp gauge just to keep an eye on the temp. I think the springs will help also. A long time ago I had a Ford with a 351 2-barrel. It towed fine except for some big Missouri hills going into St. Louis on I44. I thought I would have to get out and push.
