PS3 out of stock everywhere?
Been trying to get a ps3 slim model but Amazon has been sold out for over a month now. Other vendors have inflated prices due to the shortage...
Walmart, Costco, Target, and Best Buy are all out... Does anyone know where one might get one without paying an arm and a leg? Thank you |

I had the same problem. Best Buy was "out" online and the bricks and mortar store told me that when they come in, they are gone in a matter of minutes/hours.
I bought the bigger 250 model on Ebay and it came as a bundle with a dual shock 3 controller and a Call Of Duty game with shipping included. It cost me less than the playstation 250 and controller alone would have cost me if you include sales tax. Not exactly what I wanted but I had a 16 yr old who asked for one for his birthday. I thought it was a good deal even if it was a little more than I was shopping for. He LOVES it! -Mark. |

Yeah, I think that Sony mentioned they were going to experience a shortage through the summer. They can't increase the supply to meet the new demand.
In the mean time, you could always go for a used Fatboy. Chances are you could save a little green...

Yep, the PS3 all of a sudden has had a surge in popularity. Could be their far superior library of games.
I'm happy that both of my "Launch Day" PS3's are still humming along beautifully! BTW, God of War III is BANANAS!!!

In sales? In gameplay? In popularity? They're two totally different types of games..... And I'm not a Fanboy, I have and still have every system since the Atari 2600. But right now, PS3 does have a far superior game library than anything else.
Reach will be good though. And I'll play the s*** out of it as well. Brandotron, you do sound like a fanboy for the Xbox though. You should check out my video game podcast. www.thefanboys.com I think you'd dig it!

XBOX 360 has more sales in games and hardware than PS3.
Google is your friend. However, PS3 may overtake 360 simply because of the Blu Ray player by 2011 - not because of the "game library" you speak of. MOST of the best games for PS3 are also on 360. Exclusive titles vary - but the 360 has FAR better exclusive titles than the PS3. Of course - console opinions are like ass holes. Everyone's got one. To each their own. Personally for me - it's the 360. Quote:

PS3 for me hands down (but I'm not an online gamer) and I have so many consoles it's ridiculous. Every now and then I like to hook up my Turbo Graphix 16 and play some Bonks Adventure or Splatterhouse.
The problems I have with 360 is the ridiculously large power block, system failure (on my 3rd one now in 4 years and I don't play it a crazy amount like some people do) and the fact that it runs louder than the PS3. That's minor since once you get into the game and the surround sound kicks in you don't notice it but it still bugs me. But to each his own and I can see pros & cons in each system. I do like my slim PS3 though. Much improved. |

I will say this though. I've had to send in Xbox360's to get repaired seven times. Even on my Elite and Halo edition models that were supposed to have the 65nm chip in them. My two launch day PS3's. Not a single hiccup to this day. Same with my two launch day Wii's. That says something about the hardware design and quality. There is no arguing that.
