Who Owns a Chevy Cruze?

I am thinking of taking advantage of the current $1929 down, $149/mo offer on a 2012 Cruze to use as a DD and something useable in the winter when my SS is in storage. It's cheap, good on gas, and seems like it would serve its purpose well. I drove a manual car today and it rode pretty nice. Does anybody have any opinions or experiences that they would like to share?

I have an '11 Cruze LTZ. It's a petty little car with the turbo on it. Never drove one without it. Mine is auto and in town and traffic it's great to get around in. On the highway it's quiet. I have to set the speed alarm because on the highway I'll look down and be going way over the speed limit!

Big trunk for groceries or whatever.

Average around 32 mpg.

I'm just under 6' and I can sit comfortably and so can an adult passenger behind me.

Same here......we bought an 11 Cruze "Eco auto in May 2011 and have put 20K miles already. Great DD for my wife and has plenty of room inside. Mileage is about the same..32-34 mpg.

I see many of them around here. They seem to be good cars. I know of 2 people who traded newer Honda Accords for the Cruze.

Is anybody experiencing the issue with coolant smell? Evidently a lot of people experience this due to the design of the reservoir. There is a TSB for it but I'm wary of getting a new car with such a problem, especially when the Blazer I am dumping is having coolant leak issues.

We have a '12 Cruze LT, I use it as my DD (unless the wife needs to run an errand). We have ~14,000 miles and have never noticed a coolant smell. I'm tall (about 6'3"), and have to put the seat all the way back, so there wouldn't be any room for a passenger behind me, although I do have more headroom in the Cruze than the Camaro. I'd also highly recommend the turbo.

Just a heads up, a fairly extensive front/rear fascia refresh is scheduled for the 2014 Cruze, plus the addition of a clean diesel powertrain.

The only Cruze I would consider is diesel. Besides that the Cruze is boring.

My next car will be a new generation Fusion Hybrid most likely.

I did see that and that would be nice, but I don't see my current beater making it that long.

Love ours, an 11 LTZ. My daily driver and have driven Otto Florida on vacation. Very quiet and comfortable.

Would you like a cookie? There are more Corollas on the road too, and the Corolla is easily the worst compact in the segment right now.
