Chevrolet deserves this. From the ZL1 down to the V6 they built cars that performed better than they needed to and didn't take their customers for granted. (I'm looking at you, Ford and Dodge).

Thank you MEDISIN. It's good to see strong retail percentage hold and that total Camoro sales (retail and fleet) passed Challenger again. The gap in ATP is HUGE giving a good indication of how unprofitable fleet is

Possible dumb question, ATP does include rebates incentives right?

For sure an unexpected change and nice surprise from the last several months....Challengers sure fell off the map. Not sure what's up with Mustang. But whatever, a good month for Camaro.

Some would argue that the Mustang is down as they are looking at the 2018 Mustang which dealers should have some stock already. However it is important to note that the Mustang at what 26% fleet is down which suggest to me that the Mustang S550 sales lead over the 6th generation Camaro may be more the same as with the S197 Mustang vs the 5th generation Camaro.

If you don't remember the 5th generation Camaro had a higher transaction price and out sold the Mustang in retail (and overall). It looks like before the last few months the sales (retail wise) was close however that the Camaro still had an ATP lead over the Mustang which is why the Camaro team wasn't freaking out about sales numbers.

this is one of those things that I always wonder about as when we get the raw sales data there is a lot of context missing within it. It also suggest that with those months of spiking Challenger sales was fleet dumping as it is third in sales out of the 3. Also the Challenger was in the middle when it came to average transaction prices which is interesting.

still the car with the highest transaction price also had the highest sales data year to date. What this tells me is that consumers actually do appreciate what the Camaro brings to the table despite the negative press the car gets. One thing that it also suggest in my opinion is that yes people want a sportier car in this segment considering that combined the Camaro and Mustang are a good deal higher then the Challenger. I have always believed that the people shopping the Challenger really aren't looking for what the Camaro or Mustang has to offer. That there is a lot of direct cross shop between the Mustang and Camaro and probably not that much for the Challenger. Although I feel that the Mustang fits mid way between the Camaro and Challenger.

I may have to agree with you , i have to admit that i was not a big fan of the 6 gen camaro when it was released . The funny thing is that the things i didn't like about the car eventually became the reason i bought one . The 6 gen camaro really is a amazing car and not just for its performance value but as a great auto in general. People do have to get out and just drive one ,especially past camaro owners that have doubts in the car . I am glad i did , picked up a 2018 camaro ss 1le on september 1st.

My wife recently said "your car feels like vacation.". Smooth ride, comfortable seats and all the 2SS interior features. The cars speed scares her a little so that means nothing to her.

For my tastes, the interior is on the right side of snug. Everything is near but I'm not wedged in like a C7 and there is more front seat leg room adjustment than I can use (6'3", 225 lb)

Congrats on your 18 1LE. Send Tran a pm and he will change you name to Gen6_1Le if it's available

Yes, price customer actually pays after negotiating, discounts, rebates, cash back, etc.

I'm thinking that the Camaro may start outselling the Mustang more frequently next year.

The refresh of the Mustang put it at a point where it's now more expensive when you add the options you can get on the Camaro. (Although I really do like the 10 speed option.)

And with the Camaro refresh coming, it sounds like GM may be pulling a few of the standard options out to lower the starting price of the car.

This will hopefully drive up the amount of Camaro's sold. I may just be slightly biased though and have wishful thinking. Time will tell.

I actually prefer the Camaro to sell less than the mustang. I want strong sales for good aftermarket and continued production etc. But I don't want to see the car on every street corner.
