Unless you're in a special place, gas has always had 10% ethanol in it. At least for the last MANY years.

We had trouble with our Bass Boat motor using the gas here in Missouri. Also any small engines, lawn mowers etc. I think ethanol eats the rubber, at least the gaskets on the boat motor had to be replaced. Anyway mechanic told us to put in the 91 octain this one gas station sells in town that has no ethanol. I started to put that gas in my V6 camaro and my gas mileage has improved and the car seems to run better. We now put the higher octane in everything we have except the Flex Fuel Avalanche. No issues for over a year where we had problems before.

I only use 100% gas (still around here) at 91 octane. The user manual says you can use ethanol but not E85 or more then 10% ethanol or methanol (eats rubber etc.).

Not at all. All vehicles from 1985 on have been designed to accept at least E10 blends.

Nope. The car's don't have sensors to know the difference, they'll burn it just like pure gas.

If you can find pure gas buy it!!! Yes e10 will not actually hurt the car but the motor will run better off of real gas and will get better MPG and more power. Keep the alcohol at home not in your car.

Tell that to the FI guys. They make MONSTER power with E85.

I suspect the 10% did not just show up recently, you just noticed it recently. Or someone decided to put the labels on the pumps.
