2010 Camaro FLAT TIRE!! Tire and Rim Fitment... HELP PLEASE
So unfortunately I caught a flat tire on i95 in Maryland with my 2010 Camaro. I am looking to see what type of tires I will be replacing the 2 used tires I had to purchase at a garage in the middle of no where.
I have 18x8 American Racing Phantoms (40 mm offset). I have 3 of the original tires from the LS (245 / 55 / 18 ) My plan is to keep the two LS tires in the front with the Phantoms. However, since I need to buy at least two more new tires anyway, I was going to try and go as wide as possible in the back. QUESTION: what is the widest tire that will fit on a 18 x 8 rim? After doing some research, I have found that 255/55/18 will work or 255/45/18. Is there anyway I could go 265? I understand that the second number is the aspect ratio from width to diameter, but if anyone could educate me more on the matter, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys! |

I ordered the new tires (from TIRE RACK) thanks to the Camaro5 Family One more question though:
I will now be running 255/55/18 in the back and 245/55/18 in the front on my American Racing Phantoms... is this okay? / Is there anything else I will need to ensure optimal performance (and safety) ? |
