Last time I checked my engine doesn't knock.... I have heard my jeeps engine knock.

You engine doesnt knock because the v6 engine advances timing until it senses knock and then retards the timing a little to prevent it from knocking. Using 91 or 93 octane will reduce the knock retard and allow the most timing advance
