That's right about when mine started to rattle. It got progressively worse, so I replaced it myself. Glad I did because it was completely cracked.

Talked to the dealer and after I showed them the TSB they agreed to go ahead and replace the S/C and not just the snout. So that is taken care of. Only other service the car has had was the radio according to their info.

Good deal.

Sounds like you got it worked out then.

If you have the original isolator with the spring, it is indenting the shaft over time. I was lucky to get an ADM SC that had the isolator installed from day one. Good idea to replace it before you need too... If you intend to DIY...

ADM and GPI are the only ones I trust... I do 98% of the work, even my own alignments when the race alignment shop is too busy...

It's interesting that new TSB covers the flutter rattle on the manual trans and they say its due to bearing not being lubed. The other TSB says that noise is normal when going to the solid isolator.

I took the car in to replace the snout of my replacement supercharger on my 2013 zl1.
I went from a spring actuated coupler to a solid coupler and then to a revised spring coupler. I went from marbles to launch buzz(abnormal resonance) to perfection.
The new spring coupler fixed the buzz at 800-900 rpm, made gear engagement very smooth, and made the engine rev very smoothly, with practically no resonance vibrations. Gear shifting become much easier and smooth. I believe the solid coupler puts added stress on engine components. the new spring coupler is quiet, no marble noise and no howling noise. Strongly recommend the new coupler so if you have that 800-900 launch buzz go get the new supercharger replacement snout. My car went from rough to ultra smooth with excellent shifting feel.

Do you have a link to this new "spring coupler"?

Thx

i'm on my second supercharger. Had a replacement installed a few weeks ago. It is as bad as the original unit. I would be very interested in the revised coupler. It might take care of the rattling. Did GM offer the new coupler, or did you request it? How would I go about having this repair done to my car? Very interested in this new design coupler for my car.
