Question on final Price - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I have ordered a 2ss IOM with the RS package. Now the dealer has not said a word about price because they said they don't know anything till the car comes in. Everywhere I have read my car price is at 33,430 plus 1,200 options and 750 for a Destination charge which totals 35,380. I know I have to pay tax and reg and all that but how much can the dealer charge over that price? If they do go over that price with their fees what is the amount I can look for and is it negotiable? I need to know this because as of Friday my event code is at 3100

They can charge whatever they want over MSRP. That info should have been worked out in writing when you ordered the car....

Get to the dealership NOW and get this ironed out before it goes on any longer. And nothing verbal, it all has to be in writing 'cause the last thing you want is to get the call to pick it up your baby (and they know this is the most emotional time of the deal )and then be told, "well the total is now $39,999 with the blah and blah and blah. Oh and by the way, the sales mananger said, and we've got 200 other people waiting for someone to cancel so you can take it at 39,999 or walk away...."

If you don't mind me asking... who's your Dealer?, I see that 4 cars so far are headed to CT,... but no IOM's ...yet.
For the record, my dealer didn't put #'s down, he just wrote MSRP as final cost and has since said they would honor price protection on any increases.

OH, I asked for my final price and I ordered the 2ss yellow w/ black rally stripes automatic and my final price tax,tag and all is $40,467. so, he knows.

Go configure your car on Chevrolet's website and take a look for yourself what MSRP is. You really shouldn't be paying more than that. There are many, many dealers selling at MSRP. You have the freedom to go anywhere you want, no matter where in the country it is.

I got my price out the door with taxes, title, etc. and my price was 37,866.62. I got a 2SS/RS with cyber stripes.

I wouldn't freak out.
I would contact your dealer and get MSRP in writing. Many dealers won't give an exact price until the car comes in. But they will gaurantee MSRP in writing on your order.

If they won't give you anything in writing, I would definately find a different dealership to do business with.

Same here, I don't have any numbers written down, just MSRP written down. Please don't go off of a verbal contract, you cannot trust people's word when it comes to business.

Okay lots of people tell me if my dealer fails then what? I know I have to go to another dealer but what about my order? I have to start all over again?
