Window Motor

So I've got to replace the drivers side window motor in my Z28. Does anyone know of a good place to get an OEM motor with warranty? Advance Auto and Auto Zone both have motors for $50 - $60, are these any good and which ones are better?

Thanks

I bought the one from Auto Zone, installed myself with no problems.

I'd like to suggest you replace both too.

Based on what I've seen in the past, it's only a matter of time before the other one fails. :(

and for adjusting it...

as for buying one. just about anywhere is fine, make sure its got a lifetime warranty tho. and preferably somewhere you dont have to get it shipped from so you can go direct to them if you have an issue

The drivers side died about 5 years ago but I've never got around to getting it fixed. If it wasn't that I need to fix it so I can sell the car to buy the new Camaro, I probably still wouldn't get it fixed. The passenger side is still going strong and is showing no signs of failing like the drivers side did 2-3 months before it gave out. I'm hoping that it will last a few more months till I sell it. If it starts acting up before then, then I'll get it replaced as well.

Yea I looked into doing it myself but after looking though the instructions I decided that while it looks like something I might be able to do if push comes to shove, it's better off if I take it down the street to the mechanic so that way it something happens (like the window falls and breaks) they have to pay to repair it and not I.

Yea I prefer to buy things local just for that reason but I live in a really small town and my only three choices are Advance, Auto Zone and NAPA. The closest Pepboys and O'Reilly's is over 100 miles one way.

just be aware that you might get raped on "cost of labor". and make sure they put loctite on the bolt/nut that replaces the factory rivet. too many times ive seen repair shops fail to do that and 30 miles down the road the nut backs off and the window falls
