I agree. How about these?

16" 6-piston front: http://www.stillen.com/product.asp?i...T&model=CAMARO

15" 4-piston rear: http://www.stillen.com/product.asp?i...T&model=CAMARO

They may be a little over the top for some, but WOW!

Well, some people need the biggest and baddest brakes out there.

FYI everyone, I now have both front and rear rotors being machined and plated as I type. It won't be long now! Those that have placed preorders will be shipped in the order received.

Just installed my Racing Brake 2 pc rotors, with open slots. Made in the U.S.A. Guaranteed not to crack compared to plain slots and drilled rotors, which will crack if subjected to high heat on the track. They also are 6 lbs lighter each rotor compared to stock. Here's a link to the rest of the pics and install:

1. Are you sure these are made in the USA? As far as I know, there are no foundries left in the USA. Everyone (including Stillen, Brembo, Baer, Stoptech, etc) has to have castings produced outside the USA. This is not necessarily bad, as very high quality parts can be produced....you just have to pay for them

2. I'm not understanding your "open slot" vs "plain slot" comparison.....would you elaborate on this?

Full disclosure....obviously i'm a competitor of RacingBrake, but I want to clarify these things so everyone here has accurate information.

So just to be clear, the claim is that drilling holes inside the slots prevents cracking vs drilling holes outside the slots on the rotor face?

Rick,

The rotor castings are produced outside the USA as are all OEM rotors, and nearly all aftermarket rotors(the exception being very short run specialty rotors). With that said, we have gone to the extra time and expense of having a true OEM style casting done instead of a cheaper, more common casting that 95% of aftermarket rotors are produced with. This means a substantially higher investment from Stillen now, with the result being a much higher quality finished product. We could have come to market a bit faster and for a bit less $ using the other casting style but the product wouldn't be as good, and that wasn't an acceptable compromise to us.

I'll get a quote together for you and send you a PM.

To expand on Dan's comment a bit further, the castings are brought in. All finish work (machining, plating, etc.) is done in the U.S.A.

I believe I mentioned that earlier in this thread, but thanks for mentioning it again.

Ok everyone,

I just got the OK from management to make you guys a special offer.

We're currently offering our Stillen Metal Matrix high performance street pads for free with purchase of Stillen 1 piece Sport Rotors through Jan 15. Those of you that have pre-ordered rotors from me will be getting them automatically added to the order at no charge.

I know a lot of you like the Hawk HPS pads, so i'm making a special offer to Camaro5 members only. From now through Friday Jan 15 @5pm PST, you can upgrade the free Stillen pads to Hawk HPS pads for the difference in cost ($49.98 front and $59.83 rear).

You have to call me to get this deal....it is not available on our website. Retail customers only...wholesale does not qualify.

I've also got AP Racing and Motul RBF600 brake fluid, and Goodridge SS lines available if you want to upgrade them while you've got it apart to change the rotors.
