$82,000 in Canada??

I was talking with a GM employee last night and he says that he was told the price is going to be very close to $82,000 in Canada.
We get screwed price wise up here, so the states should be quite a bit cheaper.

CTS-V is low 70's up here and they won't even to start pricing the car until it has been priced in the U.S. GM employee is way off IMO.

Guess the won't sell many in Canada. I'd just drive south and buy one and bring it home if thats the case.

Well if a CTS-V is $72,000 in Canada and $62,000 in the US, if the "GM employee" is correct at $82,000 that would mean the ZL1 will be $72,000 here in US. I am sorry but I really do not see this car starting much above the $50,000 price point to be competitive. If it is $72,000, I am going to buy a CTS-V.

Sad the stupidity that gets believed by even one person in forums. Canadian dollar is higher than the U. S. dollar and the ZL1s will cost $50,000 unless you subject yourself to a thieving dealer too early in the game and/or add options that would ruin the character of this car.

Pricing in Canada isn't based off the exchange rate. We more or less have an inflated economy, relative to the US & most things get priced accordingly. Usually it works out to around 20% more for just about anything in Canada. Based on that, this would suggest that the ZL1 would be ~$68k in the US ... not gunna happen.

Yep, I agree with DG, the ZL-1 will be priced at less than the CTS-V. My guess is about $7000 less.

That puts a zl1 at 65,000 in Canada. Who would pay a 15,000 premium to buy one here? Nobody.
If its 50 k in the US, It should be around 54,000 in Canada or else just go and buy one in the US...too easy.
With the dollar where its at its definately cheaper to buy one down south anyway, so us Canadians should probably buy US Camaros anyway.:flag2:

Especially considering the Canadian dollar is worth more.
