Depends on your state or local laws. I don't think it's technically legal where I live to have it, but I do. Screw it lol.

I only think the illegal part would be noise levels. Some states aren't very picky.

in ny you have to hook up to the state computer to get inspected,,,it detects the sensors and any codes that may show up,,, not right,,no sticker.

Headers and cats are the only things that would cause suspicion during an inspection.

A axle back and even a cat back system has nothing to do with the inspection process and such will not cause you to fail an inspection UNLESS they was improperly installed and you have exhaust leaks.

The legality of a axle back or cat back system is based on the noise ordinance of where you live and the decibel readings that system puts out. Noise ordinances vary drastically from one state to another and from one city to another. It's not as simple as coming on here and asking if it is legal as it could very well be illegal where you live and be legal everywhere else. With that said, the only time I've ever seen anyone get a ticket for this is if they removed the mufflers completely so I wouldn't be too worried about it.

Some states/areas require mufflers, and the exhaust in question deletes the mufflers. Where I get my car inspected they don't care about it as long as it passes when hooked up to the computer. The axle back has no affect on that.
