Let's play "Best vs Best" (GM vs Ford)

GM's best=ZR1 vs Ford's best=GT500 (Ford gets SLAUGHTERED)

GM's 2nd best=Z06 vs Ford's 2nd best=Boss Mustang (Ford gets trashed again)

GM's 3rd best=ZL1 Camaro vs Ford's 3rd best=5.0 Mustang (Ford loses again)

GM's 4th best=Z15 Corvette vs Ford's 4th=SVO Taurus (Ford looks like turd again)

GM's 5th best=Camaro SS vs Ford's Mustang 6cyl. (Ford humiliated once again)

Well, looks like the old standard is true. Anything Ford can do, GM is already doing better.

GM. They were bankrupt, and they still sold more cars than Ford.

"GM. They were bankrupt, and they still sold more cars than Ford." That's a real kick in the hiney for FORD.

The only thing I will say, Ford doesn't have a current production true competitor against the 'vettes, at least the ZR1 & the Z06. So I think it's a little unfair to compare them to the Mustang. But from the standpoint of current production best of the two names, yeah, Chevy definitely wins. Just my opinion.

The real comparison is as far has pony car vs pony car if you wanna go there.....
Based on performance

ZL1 vs gt500 ford wins
1le. Vs Boss. Ford wins
Ss. Vs Gt. Ford wins
3.6 vs 3.7 ford wins

Just saying

I pretty much agree, I will add the Impala SS is not in production anymore. The SHO will probably directly compete with the Chevy SS when that comes out.

I will go out on a limb and say this was a poor attempt to stroke your own ego.

Correct. Comparing "best" in performance, yes. In price and car class, no. I've never heard anyone debating if they want to get a $130k Corvette or a $55k Mustang. That's just me though. And trust me, I could care less about what Ford has, I have no stock in the company.

When comparing pony car class vs pony car and price vs price Ford got us this year. I still don't think they have evened the tally from 67-2002, 2005-2007(GTO) and 2010. 2011-2013 is pretty much theirs. You got to let them win sometimes man.

First off, with nothing but 1/4 mile times being known, and Evolution is in the high 9's with simple tune, tires and light bolt ons on a 2013 GT500, how the hell are you able to compare the GT500 to ANYTHING?

You are comparing a much more expensive two seater to a pony car in 2+2 configuration. The nearest thing Ford HAD to the 'Vette was the Ford GT. And at the time, it smoked 'Vette's left and right.

Again, comparing apples to oranges.

Comparing the ZL1 to the GT is just outright, determined and self inflicted ignorance on your part.

Did you REALLY just compare a CORVETTE to a performance family sedan? Seriously? I just cannot fathom what was going through your head when you choose this comparison.

Let's see here.

CORVETTE:
$55k base price
430/424 hp/tq V8
3300-ish lb curb weight
Two Seater Grand Sport
0-60 in 4.2s and 1/4 mile in 12.6 @ 112 according to Car&Driver.

Taurus SHO:
$39k base price
365/350 hp/tq TT V6
4370-ish lb curb weight
Four Door performance family sedan that seats five
0-60 in 5.2s and 1/4 mile in 13.7 @ 103 according to MotorTrend

I mean, come ON! Seriously? I know that's the second time I've asked that question, but the comparison here is so far over-reaching plain out fanboy delusional that I had to ask it again.

Here I go again. Seriously? Comparing the Camaro SS to the 3.7L Mustang? I'm trying to follow your "reasoning" here however, I fully realize that were some idiot to compare the Mustang GT to the Camaro six-banger, they would be ridiculed, publicly slaughtered and finally, laughed off this board for all time.

Looks like realistic old standard is true. Give a teenager a computer and the BS will flow freely.

Ford didn't go bankrupt, sold less cars than Chevy and still managed to make Sports Cars that routinely outperform those of the same class from Chevy.

Dude, the butthurt is strong in you.

I love the fact there is a performance war going on. Can't wait to see the Pontiac G8 reborn in the Chevy lineup as an SS vehicle. Then you'll have a car to compare the SHO to. But since the SHO looks like crap, I think the Chevy SS vehicle that uses the G8 underpinnings will likely be the one I'd choose in that battle.
