RS on Hold? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Just put my order in on Tuesday, but no word of confirmation. I ordered a
2SS IBM Black Leather interior RS Auto with polished rims at MSRP.

This is my third time trying to order. Other two times I got screwed.

Well, I just got off the phone with the salesperson at Jimmy Johnson Chevrolet in San Diego. She said that the RS is on hold.

Anyone heard anything and how long?

RS for the LT models only. SS models aren't affected.

Talk to Emilo, he handles all the Camaro orders @ Jimmie. My order went thru 2 thursday ago. He's (Emilo) calling me back sometime this coming week for the ETA. I ordered the CGM 2SS/RS M6 w/ground fx.

I talked to Emilio last night.
He confirmed that the constraint is now on for the RS package on the V6 cars. He also said that the SS had a constraint on the engine, but didn't specify which engine.

6 out of the 8 orders Emilio put in this week were not accepted (some SS, some V6 RS).

I heard only V6 RS package are on hold as well.

Did Jimmie Johnson honor any of the current available discounts??? Don't mean to bash on Jimmie Johnson Chevrolet but they pretty much told me to go somewhere else (to put it in a nice way) when i asked for suppliers pricing. I had a check on hand from my credit union and i was ready to purchase too.

The following week i placed an order with CamaroScotty and I got my TPW date in 7 days! He honored all my discounts and saved me a little over 2,000 dollars. Just my .02Good luck bro.

I actually have an order in at Home Motors in Santa Maria, but I had a call from Maggie tonight asking me to use Jimmy Johnson as a backup in case my order had problems.

She also said that they had 12 orders and just went around the country and bought several Camaros and would call me when a 2SS came in just in case.

Maggie was the one that told me about the hold on the RS but did not specify which model. I really appreciate the info. I'm crossing my fingers for my order to get accepted the early part of next week.

Oh, one more thing.

Maggie said that they are getting the version that sells for $75,000 (only 25 will be made and they will receive 4 of them). I told her that I didn't have that kind of coin.

If you are looking for 2SS/RS, there are several available on east coast (NJ,NY,PA) new on the lot, people around here not buying

Here is the thread that announced the RS constraints. Cancelled my order and found one 300 miles away. Well worth the drive!

Where is CamaroScotty located?

The RS constraint only applys to the LT model. Only 95 were available across the country this week. There is no SS/RS constraint, and no constraint on the SS engine per se, just a constrait on the SS it's self. The SS constrait has eased up and we have several we can still place under the Tues deadline for this week. Call me if you're interested and we'll make arrangement to drop ship to a dealer near you.

This is who ordered mine. Went to 3000 status in one week with a TPW of 11/23. She'll treat ya right and even call ya on her day off to work out a deal. Awesome person!
