Lifter Tick? [video]

Picking the C5 community's brains. Taking the car in for service this Friday, curious if they should look at this.

How many miles? Also I see it's an Auto.. take it in. There's been a TSB out for 4 years now on the AFM's lifter setup, ticks just like that and it's a fault in the system.

Sounds more like an exhaust leak in the video.

~16,000 miles. Bought brand new last June with 6 miles on the odometer. Car is 100% stock, no modifications.

I thought the TSB was only up to 2011's?

Normal sound, nothing to worry about.

Yep, sounds like valve train noise to me. It's normal but i would try to get your lifters replaced while you still have a warranty.

Dealership just called and said it sounds normal. Then again, they couldn't hear the rubbing sound from the steering system, so who knows. I'll keep an eye on it, though. A little more peeved about the steering rubbing noise/feel since it's obviously there.

It's ok, i know i get peeved all the time with small noises. Just the other day i had my window down and my wheels or something sounded like a card in bicycle spokes. Ruined my day.

AFM Lifters are a headache waiting to happen thanks to GM's brilliant design. I personally want to get my lifters replaced with BTR Hydraulic rollers and get rid of that sound all together.

Hello Dan1028,

You have taken the necessary steps on your end. Continue to monitor and making sure you note anything further with you dealer.
