I can see the roof moldings are black so it doesn't have the RS option. Is your car a 6 speed manual transmission car? Does your car have brake calipers that say brembo on them?

26k for SS w/ wrong bumper isn't bad deal but the fact the tranny went out and it's at the dealership for warranty work still ticks me off

check the build tag in the trunk, it will tell you exactly how that car came from the factory

Yes it has the big brakes.. tires are 245/45/20 on front and 275/40/20 on rear Brakes calipers are drak grayish color and say Brembo. Dealership will be open in 8 hours or so.. I have no work tomorrow b/c of the 6inches of snow we just got.. (it rarely snows here.. and the 10in we are supposed to have tomorrow is unheard of)
And yes 6spd. I |

a new 1ss around here stickers for 32plus. And the dealers around here won't come off a penny. (not just me either. I know plenty of people that have purchased around here.. the camaro is too hot of an iteam right now. they aren't coming off the price at all..)
Again I'll update yall with what he dealer tells me.. and then what GM up in detroit says about it all. I'm working tomorrow (signing leave though) so I'll be at the dealership in uniform. Hopefully in uniform they'll think twice about trying to pull one over on me.. just cuz I'm 22 doesn't mean I'm stupid. Ya I didn't catch it all before I bought the car (mainly cuz I'm more a MOPAR guy and wasn't that intrested in the SS until I test drove an SRT-8 then the SS..) |

Expensive lesson here but, on the brighter side you still have a much nicer car than I did when I was 22 and in the military.....they must be paying a lot better than they used to.
When you go to the dealer keep your cool and have a good idea as to what would satisfy you. They probably won't take the car back and kill the deal but, they might be open to replacing the nose or giving you some money back. It will help with negotiations if you have a reasonable plan. You're young, most of us have been burned by an impulse buy at one point in our lives don't beat yourself up too bad, it's better to learn the lessons from it early in life than later. Good Luck!

Don't think he got hosed on the price, you just got a very low price for what ever reason. You paid way under MSRP seeing the base price for a 1SS is 31k without shipping and tax and title ...

Sad to say it, but when an uninformed person buys a car, most dealerships spank them.
why do I say uninformed? Unaware of any packages with the camaro models, what it should or shouldnt have, saying a car with 15,000 miles is new. the dealerships love guys like you. Hope you got a blow at the very least. However it is very fixable. Call GM's customer center and complain about the antics of said dealer, tell them they put the wrong nose on the car, failed to disclose the damage and when you get your survey in the mail tear them up on it. "threaten first, it may get them to do something, if they dont..... tear them up Last edited by nomadicdogg; 01-10-2011 at 09:33 AM. |
