This press release shows that many of our wishes were taken into consideration with the 1LE. It is a great time to be a Camaro fan. Fbodfather said the 1LE isn't for everyone, and that there was a specific target market for this model. I am thinking I might be among that targeted crowd. Available with a 1SS, basic amenities, check. Performance based, at an affordable price, check. When the disciples and Fbodfather asked for our input on this model, those were my two biggest concerns. Heavy duty Manual transmission with better gear ratios, check. Sounds like I'll be able to order one tailored to my tastes.

Color > Blue?

Perhaps this dusk edition blue will be available on 1LE, or another blue altogether, guess I have plenty of time to wait and see on that note until these are available to order.

Looks like this will be the average joe's performance Camaro for the 5th gen. If Z28 won't be a nameplate until 6th gen, then that'll give me something to look forward to further into the future. I'm enjoying my Camaro LS with daily permagrin, and looking forward to a possible 1LE upgrade in the coming year. Thanks Fbodfather, and everyone at GM Team Camaro.

I can't wait to see what this thing can do performance wise, 1G on the skid pad and with 3.91 final drive ratio. Combine that with the better wheels and tires and I can see it running from 0-60 in as fast as 4.4 seconds (best test average probably being 4.8 seconds).

I wonder what a 1LE Camaro is going to weigh in at, part of my though considers waiting until the Gen V engines come out. The way as prices are I would welcome the increased fuel economy and I hope E85 capability....

I like it! If I didn't already have my SS I would gladly get this 1LE! Like others have mentioned before it reminds me of a Grand Sport or ZO7 in options/equipment for the Camaro. Good job GM!

There is a LOT I want to get that is available for this 1LE. I want:
-20" wheels (loved them ever since the SSX concept)
-Front splitter
-Side skirts
-7" screen (or at least the bracket). I wonder can you put any 7" screen in there?
-3.91 gear ratio
-Steering wheel

Does anyone know when these things might be available in the parts dept?

One more quick question, can anyone tell me if the DIC can be upgraded? I'm sure the 2013 Camaro will get the full color DIC from the Malibu, could I get that installed in my 2010?

We should all be proud/glad that GM is trying to keep us happy. I love my 2SS/RS but you know, I love the 1LE and the ZL1 too. The only thing that keeps me from owning all of them is a 7 figure income!

Stay focused people...enjoy what you have and buy the next one YOU like. Starting with 426hp is not a bad jump off point and neither is 580hp!

“That the 1LE breaks the three-minute lap at VIR puts it in the upper echelon of performance cars.”

Just wanted to shed some light on the Boss Mustang for what is worth:

A lot of Boss owners are taking the intake manifold off and putting the regular coyote one in. Hp only increases at very high rpms and their is less hp and tq everywhere else.
If I were looking at a mustang I would do a 5.0 with the track pack and recaros. For $39,880. Wouldn't even go to the Boss.
But the Camaro is more my speed anyway.
