The cts-v recaro seats aren't available to order as a full seat. You have to buy each individual part separately which makes the very expensive. Hopefully GM will release these as a full seat and follow suit for the caddy.

Exactly what I was thinking/asking in my previous post... I'll be surprised if you can even order complete/ready to bolt-in seats. Can you buy the current standard seats as complete bolt-in's? Because I don't think you can.

I'm going to be surprised if a pair of Camaro Recaros isn't around $3800-$4000 or maybe more.

I was thinking that if I actually had a Recaro racing seat with dual cutouts for a 4 point harness I would have to finally remove the back seat and install a cage with crossbar then get the 4 point harness. I think the seats look cool but until I'm ready to make all of the mods for a 4 point I will stick with what I have.

OK, this is the unconfirmed story I heard from a reliable source while at CF4 that may or may not be fact. The Recaro seats were supposed to be available for the 2012 ZL1. However, supposedly the seats could not be installed in the assembly line because the non removable headrest made them too tall to fit in the doorway. Two years later and some pushing from upper management, the seats now fit! If this is true, it is a shame because I know I would have ordered them. I am hoping that Chevy will let Camaro owners buy them for the option price of $1995.00. They are much better than the Recaros in the Mustangs.

Maybe Super60 or someone else can confirm if this story is factual or urban legend. Courtesy of RadRace19 these are the part numbers for the seats:

Driver's Side - 22909941 Passenger Side - 22780704

I wish they would too...but it's unlikely given that the $1,995 price will take into consideration that the original seats are not needed.

So what's the price of our original seats, and add that onto the option price - I guess that's where we will be at price wise

Currently the seats are parted out. If they do change this hopefully it wont be just for the ZL1.
