The most popular problem that arises from a spring install is noise from the rear upper spring seat. There is a rubber insulator that doesn't like to stay put once the assembly is re-installed. With the wheels hanging there is little load on the spring and seat and the insulators can sometimes squeeze out of the mount, allowing the spring to contact the seat.

The assembly is designed to take a spring with a specific "free height". If the free height is altered (such is the case with many lowering springs) it is even easier for the insulator to pop out of place. If you can't find the source of your problem, just look at the insulators on the top of your rear springs and make sure they haven't squeezed out from between the spring and spring seat...

If the springs don't have a coil wrap....you might be getting a "dead spring" hitting each other....

I took it into the dealer, they said it's the suspension making the noise and that the only way to stop it is installilng the stock springs back. But they didnt tell me exactly what it was.

Im going to have to a different shop and see what they find.

Of course they would. And they gave you the low low price of $1000 to do it too right?

I recently had ARH headers w/cats installed and eibach pro kit springs and at first I thought it was the exhaust so I took it back to the installer and put the car on the lift and there is more than enough clearance every where. Drove it home and noise was still there, so I checked the heat shield and no rattle there. So, finally I drove slow and no noise when the front end goes over a bump, but when the rear end goes over the same bump a clink clink sound fromt the drivers side rear. Anyone have an idea what this is, b/c my exhaust rattles this noise from the rear as well when I rev the car.

Lol, four days later I finally found the noise. I had one of my ASE cert techs at my dealership put it up on the rack as I knew the noise was coming from the drivers side rear. When the installer was putting the springs on the bolt that connects to the sway bar fell off and we both thought we saw it roll on the ground and we couldnt find it so he grabbed the exact same bolt and replaced it. Little did we know that the bolt fell inside the LCA and was rattling everytime I got on it or hit a bump. My tech took a magnet and reached and got it. I took it to lunch and no more rattle. Thank God.
