Rims and tires

Lets talk rims and tires...

The option for the aluminum rims is $470. stupid question, but do you also get the standard rims as well?

Also, I know the Goodyear tires were designed specifically for the Zl1 but for track purposes, a) can you get cup tires for it b) do you at all feel performance will be comprisded if a. is a option? C) Is their any other better option for tires that will strickly be used for autox and roadcourse use only? (dont say slicks cause no one makes a 20 inch slick.)

Thanks

Short answer no.

Simple explaination, it costs more to make the polished rims then the
SSX rims. Hence they chose the SSX rims as the standard rims to keep
the price down on the ZL1. Just so happens it also appears to be the more popular rim of the two.

that just means that the cost of the upgrade wheels are $470.00 more than the standard wheels.so no,you don't get both sets.

You dont get both sets but while I don't wanna start a rumor but a member said that the car would ship with standard wheels and if you ordered the optional wheels the dealer would install the optional wheels. Just seems like an easy way for the dealer to pocket the standard wheels in MHO.

Sorry, but you only get one set of wheels. The black 10 spokes are standard and the polished 5 spoke are optional ($470.00). Whichever you choose is what is installed at the factory. Whatever you do not choose stays at the factory. It is like ordering the suede interior package. Either you get the standard smooth leather interior or the optional suede interior. You get to pick what you want but not both. Choose wisely!

I too, want an extra set of rims... not sure why? I've got this feeling that I want to collect some parts too that may become rare or unatainable in the future. I wonder how much a spare Carbon Fiber Weave insert is? I can see it now, an attic full of parts to keep the car NEW. LOL

I am going to get a car cover.

I have heard the Nitto drag radials are a good set of tires to go on those spare rims if you get a set........

I'm interested to know more about the polished version that is black in the grooves. I would love for those to be an option.

Looks good on the Carbon concept but I hope they hell they are not on my polished aluminum... At least I am not planning to ad..
It would be more simpler to add the black insert if you wanted the look instead of try and remove the insert.

With the 2011 Verts at least, if you ordered the optional 21" wheels which are a dealer installed optioned, then yes you get both the wheels/tires that were on it from the factory as well as the 21" set that were installed at the dealer as long as you knew to ask for them.

I would guess though, that is the wheels/tires are installed at the factory, then that's the only set you'll get.

I hear ya. So, add it with decals or plastidip, perhaps? Might work. Does anyone know about the "real" ones we've seen on the carbon concept?

I was thinking plasti dip would work real well too as if you change your mind later on it would be easily to remove.

I've heard nothing but amazing things about this product. And yes, fully retractable if you so desire.
