I'm sure this has been said somewhere in the previous 13 pages but:

It looks like the current mustang had a love child with a Fusion.

Not a bad looking car at all but definitely doesn't catch the eye the way the Camaro and Mustang did when this Gen came out. Hopefully the 6th gen Camaro can one up it looks wise.

Also why bother with the 6 cylinder AND a 4 cylinder? 4 Cylinder should get improved gas mileage and does more HP than the 6. Why would anyone buy the 6?

Of course they will!

The new Mustang should be a performance killer, but lets be honest with ourselves here...the Camaro 1LE puts the BOSS to shame so its not like we don't have a decent performing Camaro for a resonable price.

When some magazine finally does a Camaro 1LE versus Mustang GT comparo we'll see what the car is really capable of.

Why not just sell a 6 cylinder turbo option? Don't bother with the 4 cylinder.

I thought from the side, the lines on the new Mustang look too much like the Camaro.

V6 was added for cost reasons....so they can still offer the car at a low entry point like they do with the current car. That from the mouth of Ford...not my own words.

The render that had it look more like an Aston Martin would have made a much better forward progression....especially in the European Market.

The interior, though flashy and improved...looks like they raided the local pep boys for the parts. Amazingly a lot of talk on the boards in in the interwebs about the 2016 Camaro is that GM seems to be following Ford. I beg to differ. The Ford My touch screen...first offered in the mustang 2015, Camaro MyLink 2013, color stitched leather, 2015 Mustang, 2010 Camaro. Styling...the rear haunches...borrowed from GM...hmmm...but they didn't stop there...can we say BMW 4 series Front???? dont see it? How bout now.
That's nice, but too far. I think Ford did a decent job with how far they took the design on this car. Maybe something like that is what they work up too, but I think that's too much of a jump from the previous design.

Its a cost thing. The I4-T was meant to replace the V6 but due to cost restraints in order to maintain a low $20k price point for rental fleets and those on a budget they kept the 3.7L. Thus is why there probably won't much if any gain in performance in that trim. In some of the documentation released only the 2.3EB and 5.0 get performance packs.

The 1LE was faster than the BOSS because of its suspension, tires and brakes. It won't have those advantages this time, or at least as big of an advantage. With the weight loss and more than likely power bump from the updated Coyote, it will easily out run a current SS and probably an SS 1LE.

I just don't see Chevy letting the Camaro step on the toes of the Corvette to make it competitive with the new Mustang.

Doesn't look much different from a 2014....just doesn't visually excite me like a Camaro does!

Makes sense. I'm interested to hear the official 5.0 HP numbers. Or did I miss that?

Not released yet. However with the improvements made it should have no problem exceeding the Boss 302's RoadRunner V8.

-New cams with 1mm more intake lift and 2mm more lift on the exhaust side
-New cylinder heads with revised high-flow ports and slightly larger valves
-Mid-lock cam phasers to provide greater range of cam timing on the intake side
-A revised intake manifold with charge-motion control valves.
-The forged connecting rods from the current Boss 302 engine
-The forged balanced crank from the current Boss 302 engine
-Revised piston tops
-The valve springs from the current Boss 302 engine
-Standard oil cooler

Well it's true that the Camaro has a tougher spot because of it having a halo car (Corvette) but as impressive as this new mustang will be I don't see it touching the C7 or getting close enough that Chevy can't match it with the next gen Camaro. But time will tell and once again yay for more competition!

Bingo! Get ready World... here comes a poor example of an American Icon.

And I agree with Misfit1, if you are going to change it... do it right. This 'something in-between' isn't working for me.
