99% of guys serious enough to do Drag w/ their SS are going to have an LS3. which means 6 months after buying the car, it will be putting out -+500 hp.

I agree that the Camaro will outrun the 370z in a drag race, but to say that 99 percent of the guys taking their cars to the tracks are going to have manuals with the LS3 may not be the most logical statement ever. Have you noticed the "Auto faster than manual" threads? All the auto guys are saying they're going to get them because they're the quicker car. And all the GTO guys on our board brag that the A4 is the faster transmission. Not that' i'm too concerned about drag racing, but it's a well known fact that automatics are more consistent on the track than a stick and clutch manual, therefore it's easier to run quick times in an auto car. So they're ideal for the strip.

And stock for stock I'd put my money on the SS. Although it may not be quite the spanking we all hope for. I seem to recall seeing a guy on the GTO forum saying he gets like 13.7-13.8s out of his 350z (granted he was a pretty good driver). If the SS is expected to be a low 13 second car, a 370Z with 220 fewer pounds and 25-40 more hp may be pretty formidable. Torque however is a big issue and that has hardly changed for the Z. That'll hurt it for sure. I somehow doubt that it'll beat the Camaro in a drag race, but anything is possible.

If the A4 was faster, they'd probaly use it in the vette right?
