Just a quick update. I haven't seen any new information come through at this time but I am working to get something updated or some kind of work done to see if we can't get something together to try and rectify this for you.

Interesting.

It's kind of interesting that I'm also getting a 1400RPM buzz coming from the exhaust, in a SS M6.
Only happens at that RPM with clutch engaged and pushing on the throttle.

Could all of these issues be the same thing?

I'm being told this problem is exhaust reversion. The service mech who took care of my car drove it and also drove another 2LT off the lot and both did the same thing. I also had another mech (used to be a GM service mech) drive it and he said the same thing, exhaust reversion.

With that being said, I was told the only fix for this is the use of counter weights on the exhaust and GM needs to find where to put the weights before they can send out a alert. Now is GM ( Jeff ) even looking at this as a fix?

The last post regarding the "6th gear/auto rumble" was April 2011. Has anyone actually figured out what the vibration is caused from. Always feels like it should be a gear lower. Please post if there is any updates . Thanks

The deal is if you bought your camaro before a certain vin number then mostly likely you're going to have this vibration problem. The good news is that as of october 27th gm/chevy has been working on resolving this issue and said that they would call me and everyone else as soon as they have the software to correct the problem. Hope this helps.
That sounds great!!
If you can find out the tech bulletin number (or what ever Chevy calls it) from your Dealer Tech Guy!!

Any help and comments are welcome.
I purchased a 2011 Camaro in June 2011 and within the first 200 miles experienced the same problem. My vibration was so bad it would shake the rearview mirror. After taking it in twice the last time they kept the car and replaced it with a like car. The second car which is identical to the first one...DOING THE SAME THING....took it in this week and they state it is a problem but don't know how to fix it yet. GO FIGURE. They stated it had something to do with the time of the run when the car was made. Not all of them do it. I have a V6 Auto with heads up display.

Hey Silver, I have heard/felt this same thing since I bought my auto v6 RS back in June. Thought it was just my car till I read your post.

I notice that around 35-55 mph (mostly 45 mph) and w very light gas, usually just enough to maintain the speed, it does that grinding/humming sound w a light vibration. This goes away if I decrease speed, or accelerate.

I'm going to keep reading the replies to see if this is nothing to worry about, or a defect in the auto v6 transmission... but just thought I'd let you know I'm having the same issue.

Woah... seriously Moon? They replaced your whole car for this issue? I have a 2011 v6 w RS trim including HUD.

Mine has done that humming/vibrating/grinding @ 45 mph thing you all are speaking of as well since I bought her new back in June... & I currently have 8k miles on her. So is this a serious issue or something?

Kevin, there is a document in my resources that may pertain to this issue. The only one who can make that distinction would be your dealer. I would suggest getting it checked out and make sure that they check through their resources to look for this document. If you have any troubles let me know.

Thanks Mr. Morris.

Yeah, I have eperienced this from the day I brought my beauty home. I didn't even know that it was an issue or anything until I found the postings here.

To me it's only an area of concern because I don't know what's causing it, and if this will lead to a serious problem down the road if left unchecked? Now reading these posts leaves me with even more questions than answers lol.

I mean the vibrating/humming is noticable, but nowhere near a huge deal imo (that is if it's not a symptom of a serious issue that needs to be repaired). I'm not losing any fillings or anything lol. I feel it in the pedals, my seat, steering wheel, and I notice the rear view mirror slightly vibrating as soon as gear changes & the rpm's drop to that 1200 range everyone's talking about. I just thought it was something quirky that my car was doing... but I see now that there are others having the same symptoms.

My dealer is over an hour away in Georgetown TX so I don't look to be taking time off from work to make that trip anytime soon... & I don't care for the dealer in Killeen TX, so... I will take it to the dealer near where I work here in Gatesville TX sometime in this next week or so, (almost time for my 2nd oil change anyway).

Thanks again... Kevin
