I recently purchased new ZL-1 fenderliners to go with my ZL-1 front bumper conversion. The ZL-1 fenderliners are clearly marked Z/28 molded in with the part number and such

Just like I stated earlier in post #9... the ZL1 was supposed to be the Z/28 and if that was such then this upcoming Z/28 would likely be a ZL1. Nomenclature & semantics re-written by Chevy...

One thing I don't understand is how or why GM purists could call the ZL1 a ZL1? If they wanted to stay pure with the Z28, why take the purity away from the ZL1?

Idk I think they did an awesome job, but it's kind of head scratching...

With its 300-pound weight advantage over the ZL1, single-minded chassis tune, and incredibly sticky rubber, the Z/28 is a monster we can’t wait to experience for ourselves.

Best info in this article!!!

Let the speculation begin!!!!

My top five secret cars that the Z/28 is faster than:

5. Camaro ZL1
4. Nissan GTR
3. Ferrari 458 Italia
2. Porsche 911 GT3RS
1. Corvette Z06 w Z07
I don't see the Z/28 touching a Z07. All guesswork aside, I cannot wait to see what cars this Z/28 is going to disappoint.

I saw somewhere about a week ago that the Z/28 will be higher than the zl1,so im guessing a starting figure around $60

In 1969 the original ZL1 was not a Camaro trim option but rather the highest horsepower factory engine option available from Chevrolet.

People often seem not to remember or realize that the original ZL1 was a factory engine option designed for Can-Am racing that was included as part of the 1969 9560 COPO Camaro package and that the ZL1 was also available as an engine option in the 1969 Corvette. Today the LSA is to Camaro engines as the ZL1 was to Camaro engines in 1969. Therefore, it is appropriate that the Camaro with the LSA, the highest horsepower factory engine available today, is named the ZL1.

If the Z/28 is faster than a Z07 Z06, this car will be a bigger engineering marvel than the GT-R.

I don't think it would be close though. There's just no way it can be quicker than a Z07.

There were posts on this site where the ZL1 was timed on the Nurburgring race track in Germany, I recall it put quite a few cars to shame, here is a partial list, ther were manr more cars slower, if the Z/28 is 3 seconds quicker it will put a number of super cars to shame.

Who's good at searcing this site can you find those posts?

This Z/28 would have to seriously rip turns to make that happen. If it did, that would be a miraculous time to achieve. And I would certainly bow to the awesomeness. Making it one of the fastest cars on Gods green Earth.

I for 1 am assuming the track they are referring to will be much smaller than the Ring, if the Z/28 is only 3 seconds faster a lap on the Ring than the ZL1 I will be HIGHLY disappointed with the cars performance.

EDIT: and here is the link for the Ring lap times, as well as Laguna Seca & VIR
http://fastestlaps.com/tracks/nordschleife.html
http://fastestlaps.com/tracks/laguna_seca.html
http://fastestlaps.com/tracks/virgin...l_raceway.html

Reason I throw in the other 2 is I think the Z/28 will have a much harder time keeping up w/ super cars like the Vette's and GT-R's on a larger track where they can really get up to that top speed. Where on something like VIR and Laguna Seca not having a high end speed doesn't hurt you.
