Do you trust it?

I've had a few cold weather situations that have made it hard to trust the traction of my car. I took the car on some twisters this week and wasn't able to push it as I just didn't trust the traction. How do I get over this it is frustrating.

Yeah. Car sticks like glue when it's over 75 degrees

some heat in the tires makes a huge difference in confidence. These tires suck when cold as many have labeled them "hockey pucks"

Find a big open area(we have a minor league ballpark parking lot) and run it in a figure 8 until you lose it. You will find that your warm weather traction is well beyond the point of sphincter pucker.

Surprised the OP is having problems at 64*. I've heard from others I know with the Z that those F1's are like gumballs in good weather temps.

Search for an autocross in your area, you will be able to push the car as hard as you want without the risk of hitting anything but cones.

At an autocross the track layout usually will not allow you to reach speeds more than 60 mph as compared to a road course with very high speeds.

If you spin out you will not be the only one. I have a couple of youtube videos that my son posted of me racing an autocross.

Search Youtube for "Lonny Zl1 autocross Texas".

This will help you gain some confidence in how hard you can push the traction and what you can recover from.

The GY's do not like cold streets. I had the tires properly warmed and then went to my personal closed course. The back end tried to come around twice at around 10mph slower than my norm. Took it home and put it in the garage......live to fight another day. Michelin Super Sports should take care of that I would think.

I came out the parking lot left hand turn in 75 degree weather and barely got on it and the back end whipped around and that was with TC on but not in any PTM mode. These tires aren't the best by any means

My tires slip under very little throttle between 50-60 degrees. It gives me an uneasy feeling driving aggressive. Looks like I need to try new tires?
