Dovetail spoiler install???

Anyone done a DIY video on this? I have a 2SS with a factory spoiler, so the trunk lid section was easy - uses existing holes plus one 5/8" for light wiring. REALLY nervous about the quarter panel hole drilling. Not that confident in template...it doesn't line up perfectly with my existing trunk lid holes. I've started a video on the factory removal and the trunk lid install, but could use some help with the quarters.

Dovetail Spoiler install

Well, no replies to this post, but I went ahead with it. I'm really pissed that the GM template for the spoiler install didn't align with my stock spoiler holes. The Dovetail went into the existing holes and was centered and all, but I didn't know what to do about drilling the quarterpanels. Should I trust the template? Well, I measured six different ways, and made my own template. i only had to elongate one hole by 2mm, but it took me three days' of night work! Just the wiring to complete for the weekend drive!

Any video or tips would be great. I am thinking of installing mine on Sunday. Got a price from deals hip for install and they want $119. I have the stock spoiler so would need to drill the quarter panels and wiring harness whole. Another place told me it would be around $200 for install. Thinking of doing it myself.

Installed it today. Wish I would have paid the $119 to have dealer install. Real pain in the a$$. Template doesn't line up very well so you end up having to make several adjustments widening the holes out in the quarter panels. Also getting the nuts on those is a pain also. I ended up putting some silicone caulk around the wholes I drilled in quarter panels also.

Hardest part is the inner 10mm nuts on the side pieces. Aside from that, takes no time at all and the supplied template is nice!

Those 10mm inside nuts were very tough to get to. The template alignment that came with mine didn't work all that well. Ended up having to widen out the holes to get a somewhat good alignment with the center. Really hoping I don't have any leaks.

Looks awesome! Agree that it isn't as easy as it sounds. If I had it to do over I would have paid the $115 the Chevy dealer wanted to install it.

The alignment on the driver's side would piss me off...
