Pretty Please? ZL1 wheel weights
Now that many of you lucky owners of ZL1's are out there running around and causing havoc on the highways, I'd like to ask a favor of at least 2 of you.
Would someone with a set of black ZL1 wheels put a front and a rear wheel on a bathroom scale and let us know what they weigh? Also, need someone with the silver ZL1 wheels to do the same. Bonus points for pics of each front and rear wheel on the scale. Let's see how those two compare, curiosity is killing me. Thanks, Tony

Not Sure too many will go through the expense and trouble of pulling tires off these wheels to put them on a scale, but I expect to pull mine to have them powdercoated, so I will be able to get the silver pic and weight for you, but my car is currently on a train coming home.
I will do my best to get Silver wheel weight for both front and rear, it may be a week or two though.... Bruce |

Aren't the chunkies 5-pounds less than SSX-wheels? I know that doesn't give specifics, but I believe I've read that from more than one source.

someone order a single rim and look at the ship weight!
I wouldn't mind having a set of ZL1 black 20s.. buy em for me and I'll weigh em before I put tires on em. in all curiousness though, does anyone know what a stock SS 20 weighs? |

Best bang for buck mod if you plan on running road courses is a lighter wheel. I suspect based on the handing magic GM worked on this Carthage the wheels are pretty light for their size already.

Here you go... weighed mine yesterday w/ tires on... and the 60 was flashing between 59 and 60...
59 lbs Front 60 lbs Rear Pete Basica on the right, Larry Dye on the left... we were all surprised the fronts and rears weigh the same... Should have some weights on the polished in a few days... |

The black rims are 1.3 pounds lighter then the polished one's, according to Road & Track.
