The plant is NOT closing even if GM goes tits up. Enough of this made up crapola people are being fed! The suppliers will still get paid in a pre agreed fashion.

It seems to me that closing the Camaro plant would be the stupidest move ever....The are not going to close the Fairfax, KS plant that builds the Malibu....The camaro is backordered for months...It does GM NO GOOD to have cars built that no one is buying...They don't get their $$ until the car is delivered.....

I wasn't trying to start a "the sky is falling" thread.

There are several people here who have been all fired up about not getting their cars due to various problems, delays, whatever that might actually like to know "something" that was put out by a fairly reliable dealer. I haven't been spoon fed crap like some others have had to deal with from their dealer or dealers they visited so I took them at their word.

Last thing I read was that the plant was looking at a 2 week shut down, so I took the 1 week shutdown as GOOD NEWS.

If the plant gets shut down for a week or a month it doesn't make a difference to me because I'm not waiting for a car that should have been here a month ago. I still have several months to wait. Hell, I still have 6 orders in front of mine to get sent to production before I can even start looking forward to getting my car.

The Plant IS closing the week of July 6th according to a member who works on the line.

I guess there are a few dealers out there that are in the know.

The uaw in canada and the Canadian government and GM did not come to agreement last night at midnight. last night was the dead line or they let GM in Canada go in to chapter 11 and let them be liqudated, if this happens any car thats no made yet will have to wait about a year for them to move the plant to the USA, if they can get the tooling out of the bankrupt.
