Same configuration

I checked the layout, they look like it is a direct bolt-in. Can't wait to install the new look and sound.

I don't think bolting on is the hard part. Making the dual mode work with the vaccum and controller module is the hard part. You'll need more than just the vaccum lines to make it all work properly....its can be an expensive project.

Best of luck to you!

Isn't the ZL1 exhaust a 3" system?

Exhausts are 2 1/2"

Both exhaust are 2 1/2". As it is an alternate add on to my exhaust system. I have two options in my mind.

Leave it open all the time
Add an NPP in a box, it does not have to run as factory design. I can open/close the flip with a switch

Do you think my idea would work.

If you are going to use the NPP in a box, do the wiring and run the vacumm lines, I don't see any reason why that won't work. If you get it installed and working, make sure you post up some videos!

Definitely want to hear this thing! A controlled switch in the cabin could be pretty cool but whichever works best for you! Keep us updated, sounds like a cool project.

It's done and I like it

I started early this morning. While the four tires are removed, I change out the brake fluid before my friend arrive.

I was not able to remove the diffuser, but the bumper removal was easy. It takes less than 15 min to remove my existing exhaust, and install the ZL1 exhaust.

The next step was to trim my diffuser. I hook the bumper back with a string to use as a template. The cutting is not perfect, but I don't think it's noticeable.

It sounds loud at 1st and 2nd gear, smooth at higher gear. It still loud even with a wire is used to close the exhaust gate.

When you get the setup done definitely take some good videos if you can. Oh, and please keep the recording device a little ways back from the exhaust (10 - 20 ft)...don't jam it right up next to the tailpipe lol.

Driving vids are always better though...these cars sound better under load rather than free revving.
