How can they do that? Just end a program and strand people?! You'd think they'd just stop accepting freshman and close out the program for people already in it.

Everyone that has declared can finish their major...but if we lose accreditation my degree won't be worth squat.

Its the accreditation that I'm scared of losing.

Which is useless. How could they possibly lose accrediation? They obviously were up to standards before... It seems weird that as soon as they run out of money they aren't up to standards. Hmmm....

"The issue is not about enrollment numbers, it’s about losing accreditation. However, the fact of the matter is that the enrollment began declining rapidly in the early 2000’s and has stayed fairly stagnant ever since.

Why? A lack of resources on the flight training side of the program. Some students had to wait up to a year to complete some portions of their flight training due to a lack of airplanes and instructors. As a result, enrollment fell and the numbers have yet to recover. Had the proper resources been provided, we wouldn’t be in the current situation.

So basically lack of resources...and lack of professors. We were going to lose accreditation this semester, but since Dr. Hamilton passed away they gave us an extension til February 2014.
