Drove a ZL1...not impressed

So after fantasizing about a ZL1 since people started pre-ordering them, I finally made it to a Chevy dealer to test drive one. I know some of you out there will start throwing stones and raising your pitch forks, but I have to say I was extremely disappointed. I have a pretty decently modded 2SS and I can say without a doubt, I would destroy a ZL1 in a straight away. Never thought I would be able to say that. Don't get me wrong, it was a nice car and it drove incredibly smooth and handled very well, not to mention how beautiful it was. It just felt like a tank. I know the actual curb weight is just under 200 lbs more than the SS, but it felt like a whole lot more. All said and done, it really just lacked the "Wow factor" for me. I definitely don't see it worth 20k more than an SS, and so if nothing else, it made me even happier with my SS.

Loose the stones...

Honestly I expected violent acceleration too. But it didn't try to crush my ribcage like I expected.

Funny. I felt the same way when I drove an SS.

LMAO...

There are quite a few threads on this and your first impressions are correct. However, this car is also much more easily modded for more HP AND the platform can handle a lot more HP, but in stock form I'm afraid you are correct.

Frankly, just the blower whine and rakish good looks are enough for me. I'd do some ungodly things to have a black one for my stable.

And Mlee is right on the money. Pulley job and a tune, and that car will rip the smirk right off your skull.
