whistling noise

theres a whistling noise coming from under the hood, sounds like its on the passenger side. it happens while driving and at idling. some guy said it was my breaks but it isnt a squeeling sound its a whistle. i know what bad brakes sound like. im taking it to a dealership on monday just wanted to see if anyone knew what the problem was before i go over there and they try and give me the runaround.

did you replace your stock air filter with an after-market one recently?

nope everything is still stock. the only thing ive done is remove the stock resonators and mufflers and installed a magnaflow x-pipe

maybe you have a baby supercharger growing under your hood....

I have noticed something similar when the A/C is on, in stop and go or when adding or letting off the throttle.

Sounds like it's right at the firewall and only does it when it's around 90* or above with the air on. I suspect something in the A/C system. Only 600 miles on mine.

However traditionally, a power brake booster leak can sound like a whistle

It is hard to say precisely what the issue you are experiencing could be. Please let us know how service goes today and if the dealership was able to diagnose the concern you are having.

I am having this problem too, and it's driving me crazy. I just picked up the car on Saturday with 7 miles on it...brand new.

The whistling sound I'm hearing is coming from the driver's side...I've turned everything off (A/C, HVAC fan, HUD, & radio), and it seems to be coming from near the firewall on the driver's side. I can hear it when idling or driving. Just noticed the thing today. Annoying as hell...

Had the same problem. Was told its my alternator charging up....I kid you not....They even gave me a TSB about it......./shrug..I told them if my car ever blows up I'm gonna sue the crap out of them...Like other people say here..just turn the music up and step on the gas.

my 12 SS makes a whistle noise at 5k-redline in every gear...someone told me it could be the tensioner or a pulley..any suggestions?

Just got my 2011 2SS out of the shop whistling noise, it was louder when cold the crankshaft pully was seperating 14,000 miles on the car
