I don't think it's that bad. At least it follows the lines and looks well put together.

I am probably too young to understand one's desire to make their car look like it was built with 40+ year old technology.... There is a reason we have integrated headlights, crumple zones, tighter body panel fitment, etc, because they work/look better than what was available four decades ago.

Those dreamy muscle cars from 40 years ago are beautiful as they were and I personally want to own a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda one day, but I'd never go and take a new Challenger and put a retro Cuda body kit on it... it's just wrong. Times have changed, the bodies are too different, it will never look right. That is all.

If these kits were full front fascia replacements instead of just add-on they might look better. It looks bad because of the longer hood, short and sweet is amazing on these cars modifications should fit that mold.

Man no matter how many times I see these pictures, the car just doesn't look right. Not even from a retro stand point.

I see what they are trying to do here, I just havent seen one yet that doesnt look out of place. The 69 was a badazz ride, and the gen5 is as well... but the 69 parts just dont look right on a gen 5... the body lines just dont line up well

That looks horrible IMO. it doesnt even look like a 69 camaro. It looks like an AMX and I wasnt even born around the time they came out but I know a bit about that era. I will say the rear pic looks somewhat decent. I wish theyd have based it towards that look rather than how the 3 rear lights are, but I enjoy it regardless. But to add vintage look to modern? It doesnt work well. Just go buy a 69 and restore it. I MUCH prefer a 67 camaro than 69 because it lacked the bug eyed look 69s have and hideaway headlamps on SS/RS with bumblebee front stripe was killer for its time IMO.

Fact is this generation Camaro wasn't designed to be THA. T retro. If you want something which looks like a direct descendant of its late '60's/early '70's forebearer, buy a challenger. But the profile of the current car is just too different to match those first gen parts. Even the chrome looks out of place on it, these days. Unless its a true heritage car, i say leave tge chrome to Cadillac, they do it so much better.

I understand the temptation to further retro-ize the car - i have those '67 v-flags on my 1LT, but that's a small nod to the past, which is more what this Camaro is about

IMO, other than signatures/avatars, every single picture in this thread looks terrible.

I found this video form last years world of wheels show here in Pittsburgh. I passed this car sitting out in front of the guy's shop a few months ago but didn't have time to stop and really look at it. You'll have no trouble spotting it about 15 seconds into the video.

I'm all about the nostalgic feel, but that's why I have a 1st Gen. Couldnt see doing that to my 2010. Also, I'm kind of a "stock" snob on the exterior mods.

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing on my 68 that is stock, but it looks like it could be.
